About us
Our Story
Uganda Shoebill was born out of a deep connection to Mabamba Wetland and a lifelong appreciation for birds, nature, and conservation. Founded as an indigenous, community-rooted initiative, the company brings together expert local guides who know this landscape intimately, many having grown up or worked within the wetland ecosystem.
What sets us apart is our balance between world-class birding experiences and active conservation. Every tour is designed not only to offer guests meaningful encounters with Uganda’s birdlife but also to protect Mabamba’s fragile habitat. We are actively involved in wetland protection initiatives and are proud members of the Mabamba Wetland Ecotourism Association (MWETA), working closely with local communities to ensure tourism benefits both people and nature.
We look forward to showing you the Mabamba we know and love!
